Stephen translates the illustrated photograph in pen. Both drawing and photograph are shown to
highlight our artists dazzling visual facility to reproduce the perspective. APN Picture Library
supplied us with photographs of Moscow and Leningrad prior to our trip, and this aerial view had
been chosen for the combination of intricate detail and complex perspective.
Stephen responds enthusiastically to it, taking four and a half hours to complete a brilliant
picture. The detail on the Kremlin Palace is picked out from another photograph which Stephen had
been shown the previous week.
Original Drawing of Aerial view of the Kremlin, Moscow 1990 measuring 594 x 420mm (A2), created and hand drawn by the artist.
