In a helicopter above the city in October 2009, Stephen looked down at the streets and sprawl of New York. He flew for 20 minutes. Following that, working only from the memory of that sight, he sketched and drawn a mighty panorama of the city, rendering its 305 square miles along an arc of paper that is 19 feet long. By the end of the week his stunning view spanning from New Jersey to Verrazano Bridge were all captured on paper. As he worked on Tuesday afternoon, he often turned to glance the people watching. He gave a panoramic smile.
